Lem
Alembic -- usually shortened to just Lem -- was built in 979, designed as a physic to tend Brelish soldiers. An alchemist specifically by schooling, he has much of House Jorasco's arcane healing training built into his metamatrix, an example of the close partnership the two houses share with one another.
Lem's spent the last several years taking care of Morran Decannith on behalf of an employer he's never met; he received his job from an anonymous broker, and reported to a private house in Ashblack as requested. There, he met Crucible, who told him if he ever needed supplies, he should call up by sending stone and then come retrieve them. From there, guards escorted him through some hidden passages, into the sewers, and through an unsealed portal into Sharn's depths.
He doesn't know how Morran "did that" to himself; he's a physic, not a magewright, and the person he found in that makeshift workshop was in no state to explain. He's just been focused on keeping Morran alive; sometimes he makes it easier, sometimes harder.
Unfortunately for both Lem and Morran, Cinnabar came through the same space in search of privacy just over a year later. She immediately pressed Lem into being her dust mule, and Morran took a turn for the worse. Then Cazha showed up two years after that, and Lem's life really went to the bottom of the Dagger River.
With Cinnabar gone, though, Lem's now the only one with the knowledge of how to make dust. Without Cinnabar's "one weird trick," however, it's a lot more expensive for him to make.
