Short book synopsis
A young woman has to make an arranged marriage with the king of an enemy country. However, unbeknownst to her, her family attempts to murder him and his entourage during the wedding night. When they end up being the one killed instead, she finds herself alone, married to an enemy and having lost what little goodwill he and his people had for her. She now has to ingratiate herself with her husband and his unfamiliar oasis city, while hiding her desire for revenge and stopping everyone from seeing her as a burden and en easy victim....
