Lich
It is an arduous process to become a lich, involving forgotten rituals long since removed from texts and horrific sacrifices requiring the death of all that is held in sentiment in order to truly separate ones humanity from themself to create something sinister to replace them. Most forget their past life other than glimpses that feel like a dream, but life to a lich is mundane and meaningless and so they move on and away from what they once were. The price to be paid after obtaining lichdom, is the exchange for eternal life here and now instead of eternal life in the beyond. For some that is meaningless, but only until you face the final curtain and realize that after all of the efforts you have taken to achieve an ageless life with limitless potential for power, that this is all there is for you, nothing more.
In some cases lichdom is bestowed upon an unwilling living creature by Calixia herself, and in these cases one cannot help but feel a deep woe for the ones doomed to never witness life after death, and never having a say in the matter.
Lichdom is irreversible, but once someone first begins taking the steps to lichdom, the power you will feel will make it near impossible to stop, but please... do.
Basic Information
Anatomy
A lich is born from any species which gives them unique appearances in whatever form they hold, But they do not contain innards and Instead a lich will look as if they are nothing but a shell held together by pale skin tightly formed on the bone. They lack eyes but can create mimicked "magical" illusion to simulate them which normally gives them a faint glow.
Genetics and Reproduction
Lichdom comes with a price, by gaining immortality you lose the ability to create life to continue your lineage, they are barren and their souls ruined beyond repair.
A lich cannot create a lich and may only create lesser Calix spawn from living or dead bodies, who are in a majority drones and not sentient themselves.
Growth Rate & Stages
Time has forsaken the lich, forcing them to live eternally stagnant and unchanging.
Feeding on life force gives them strength to raise death and the more life one drains the stronger Calix spawn they can create.
Ecology and Habitats
Many a lich create dangerous lairs to safe guard their phalactory in order protect them from facing the final death should it be destroyed.
Dietary Needs and Habits
A lich does not require air, food, water, or sleep. However they must feed their phylactery souls to preserve their body and consciousness, for should they fail or forget to do so, they will become a demilich and eventually fall into a sleep like death until they are fed.

Social Structure
Every lich craves power, whether in knowledge, domination, or pure magical force, a lich will find a way to fill this need constantly scratching at their mind. It is because of this, a lich will never pair with another of their kind. They must be in a ruling position should they socialize with any creatures, often becoming dark overlords over beast-men and monsters to simulate their craving of dominion over life. It is theorized that a lich would only ever bow to Calixia for fear of her revoking her gift of lichdom, but never has it been witnessed that she held council with any of her creations.

Basic senses are taken from what it was in life, however once cursed with lichdom they gain truesight and a heightened senses of their original bodies abilities.
They also gain a vast intellect with a fast processing ability and the ability to cast spells such as detect magic, detect thoughts, and scrying.

Once a creature becomes a lich they often discard their old name and take upon a title such as, The black hand or All-seer.
Common Etiquette Rules
Beings of domination, a lich demands respect and upholds the upmost etiquette of regal authorities and to ignore proper acts in their presence will surely have you fed to the phylactery.
Common Dress Code
Enchanted robes are the defacto outfit for "work wear", but shockingly many a lich care about appearances in order to appear fit to rule all life.
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
Often a tribe of creatures or war survivors will be "adopted" by the lich in and attempt to uplift them and raise a future of living creatures to serve them and assist in filling the phylactery. If all life is destroyed the lich is unable to feed, therefor it is imperative to subjugate living creatures with the main goal being willing creatures sacrificing themselves.
