Class Signet

The class signets are a part of the sorgina culture. They protray the rank of the person wearing it, depending on their magical powers and their religious devotion. Every sorgina only has a signet for the magic class that they are most advanced in.

Appearance

The signets themselves are thin round plates of metal with the crest of the magic class on the front. Underneath and going around the crest are dots raised in the metal. The more dots, the higher ranking the person wearing it, is. In total they are usually the size of a lid of a metal can like we would know them in the human world.

People usually incorporate into their clothing in different ways. Some people tie it in with their hair styles, others wear it on a chain as a necklace or as a belt. Some even sew it into jackets or cloaks that they often wear.

History

The signets came to be when the sorgina society structured itself according to the Faith of the Eight. Originally, the signets were documents that were issued to people. One for every magic class for every person. This became too much and unnecessary quick, so it was decided to size it down from a document to an easily recognizable symbol. Also, over time, only the most advanced magic class was issued to each person, for practicality.

Today, people get their signets from the nearest temple. They do have to have them on their person at most times, like one would carry an ID in the human world.
