The Drowned Trenches take their name from the sunken infrastructure of pre-Fall Albany, New York, where entire blocks of cityscape collapsed and flooded during the early decades of the Fall. The collapse was triggered by seismic instability from buried combat drone caches and ruptured subterranean reactors. Deep fissures formed, flooding with tainted groundwater, runoff, and the condensation of strange, artificial fogs. Locals say the trenches didn’t just collapse—they were pulled down.
