The Great Reformation of Devotion

The Great Reformation of Devotion, initiated by Reverend Mother Lisha Eryka Keys, marked a dramatic return to spiritual absolutism within the Church of Hope. At its core was the belief that the Fall was not just a physical catastrophe, but a divine punishment for moral decay and spiritual dilution. The Reformation reinstated rigorous purity standards, including daily prayer mandates, ritual fasting, and behavioral audits for all Church personnel. Marriage, reproduction, and even vocational roles were re-evaluated through the lens of Original Form Doctrine, which taught that only unaltered human beings reflected the Maker’s true image. The Awakened and the Others, once viewed as pitiable victims, were recast as spiritually malformed anomalies requiring separation, surveillance, and correction. Faith became not just belief, but visible discipline—measured in language, posture, diet, and obedience. To live without flaw became a moral imperative, and to falter was no longer a private failure, but a communal threat.
