For those that are interested in making their own tokens, I have had really good luck using The Fateful Force VTT Token Maker . It is a web based tool and is really easy to use. You just drag and drop the image that you want to use for the token and then you select some options from the menus to choose the token's border. Then you download it. Super fast and super easy.

There are a ton of places that you can get free art to use for your tokens. There are a bunch of web based programs that make AI art, but there are plenty of other choices if you'd rather not use AI art. Janet Forbes already wrote up a great article about art options you can use, so I'm not going to reinvent that wheel here. You can read that over on the World Anvil Blog HERE .

The thing that I like the most about creating my own tokens is that I can have tokens and character / creature art that look like they belong together. But sometimes, you just need a quick token for that NPC / Monster that's just passing through.
