Sigillum Oculi Incisoris
"The Seal of the Cutting Eye"
Artifact Type: Sacred Surgical Relic / Dark-infused Engram Key
Origin: Sanctorum Exitus, Fall Era
Current Status: Stolen from Church reliquary storage 5 years ago
The Sigillum Oculi Incisoris is a relic of both anatomical and spiritual horror—a small, circular object forged from neuro-reactive alloy etched with impossible geometry, its center set with an iris-shaped lens made of fossilized vitreous humor. When viewed directly, the lens seems to dilate, subtly mimicking the observer’s emotional state. It hums faintly when held near living tissue.
The Sigillum is not just a religious symbol—it’s a bio-philosophical key designed to unlock and "correct" what the Sanctorum believed to be the flaw in the human pattern. It can be attuned to a host through ritual bloodletting and meditation, allowing the user to receive fractured flashes of memory, muscle technique, and anatomical insights passed down from those who wielded the scalpel as sacrament.
Used improperly, it induces:
- Visions of flayed angels and impossible surgery performed in zero light
- Compulsion to “improve” others through ritual cutting
- Cognitive dissonance loops where body and identity disconnect, leading to hallucinations or memory erosion
It is suspected that whoever stole the relic has begun decoding it—and that this is either the Scalpel Man, or someone guiding or fueling him.
