Hammond is boastful, witty, and always ready with a rehearsed anecdote about one of his "successful" devices. He’s a charismatic talker, if not always an honest one.

He excels at designing visually striking prototypes with intricate moving parts, often cobbled together quickly from scrap with surprising aesthetic charm.

He constantly polishes or adjusts his tools even when not using them, especially his custom goggles, which he wears on his forehead at all times.

Hammond tries to impress everyone he meets—especially higher-ranking Engineers or anyone from outside Camp Hope. He is overly competitive with his peers and quick to shift blame when things go wrong.

“Better to dazzle and fail than to go unnoticed.” Hammond believes legacy is carved in spectacle, not stability.

He’s chasing the shadow of his older brother, a legendary Engineer who disappeared during an expedition—Hammond is desperate to be seen as his equal or better.
