Blue Memory Shard
Touching the memory shard requires the player to draw a Sanity Effect.
The shard lies on the ground behind the terminal, half-covered in dust and forgotten like everything else in this place. It's a jagged crystal, no bigger than a thumb, pulsing faintly with shifting hues—soft blue, flickering gold, and sudden stabs of violet. As you draw closer, the colors seem to respond, pulsing in rhythm with your heartbeat… or your thoughts. It feels aware, like it's remembering something—and maybe, just maybe, it's remembering you.
As your fingers close around the shard, the silence deepens—and then breaks. A memory not your own floods your mind: standing in a sunlit room, laughter echoing from somewhere nearby. A child’s voice calls your name—not the one you use now, but one you’d forgotten. You see hands, familiar and wrong, adjusting a silver pin on a white lab coat. There’s warmth, love, purpose. Then, a flicker—alarms, darkness, someone screaming your name in reverse, and the sound vanishes into a void that eats memory like fire eats air. You’re left with the sensation of something precious lost… and the terrifying suspicion that it was yours.
