Facade
Origin of the Mask:
Once, he was Fenric, a battle-scarred warrior who stood against death itself. During the infamous Wild Hunt in the autumn months, Fenric confronted Strussel Gren. A proud dwarf, now twisted into a savage hound by the Raven Queen’s will. Their duel was brutal, Fenric bleeding from a dozen wounds, hopelessly outmatched. He knew he couldn’t win, but held the beast’s attention long enough to let innocents flee.
As death came for Fenric, Odin intervened. With a whisper of fate and a glimmer of prophecy, the Allfather offered Fenric a second life. One bound in service as a divine pawn. Fenric accepted, and returned to the world... for a time.
Betrayal and Death (Again):
Reborn but mortal still, Fenric rode with his band, The Crimson Reavers. Outlaws with honor, bound more by brotherhood than blood. Among them was Eadric, a friend once, now a corrupted vessel of Orcus, the Demon Prince of Undeath. Greed, power, and whispers from below turned Eadric's heart.
In a moment of treachery, Eadric sold out the Reavers to the Reman Legions. Surrounded and betrayed, Fenric was struck down. This time, a spear through the eye. Death claimed him again.
But Odin had not yet finished.
The Birth of Façade:
Plucked from the brink once more, Fenric’s soul was sealed inside a new vessel. Taller. Sharper. With features twisted just enough to be unfamiliar. A warrior’s body shaped by divine will, and a false mind layered over the old.
He was given a name: Façade.
Memories of Fenric were buried. Only fragments remain in dreams and glimpses. The man who walks now is a charming liar, a cunning blade in the crowd, a rogue blessed with an uncanny talent for deception. Odin’s Knight in a game of cosmic chess.
But cracks are beginning to form in the mask.
What happens when the echo of Fenric begins to rise?
