Sanguine Eucharist
Long before the recorded history of the world, divinity was not determined nor controlled by the deities of the world today, but rather a spark of that divinity existed in all life, passed down in the blood from one being to another. To consume the blood of another is to absorb its divine spark, using its life to fuel your own. These are the old ways, long forgotten by the realms of men and their modern gods, but forgotten does not mean gone.
There are those still alive that practice the rites and the rituals of the old gods, and they know better than most the price of the power they wield. Where mortal men call upon divine favor without regard to where that favor must come, those of us from the days long past remember how that price is paid. Nothing in this world is free.
As the power is the blood, and the blood flows through me, the power is mine. This is the chant of the conduits of blood magic, the oldest and most powerful of the divine rites. Our magics bestow powerful curses on our foes, uplift the spirits of our followers, and even stave off the inevitable effects of death. True mastery of the divine within is to know that the spirit is unending, and that our souls know no age.
The way is dark, cold, and unforgiving, but this is the way. Seek the power within yourself and know that the gods were once men who learned of their own divinity, the same way we must. No dominion can be held over those of us that fuel our divine spark with the essence of life itself, and that essence lives in the blood of all creatures. We must all fight for our share
