Elf
Elves are an ancient and graceful race, crafted by the hands of the first Gods to be stewards of beauty and guardians of the world’s wonders, elves embody creativity, harmony, and endurance. They are long-lived beings with a deep connection to both the material world and the magical Veil, the realm of dreams and endless possibility.
Origins & Mythology
The elves trace their lineage back to the collaboration of the first gods Rosthiel and Duraminthra. When the gods sculpted the Material Plane, they sought caretakers who could appreciate and preserve its beauty. From the harmonious fusion of creativity and craftsmanship, elves were born—beings of grace, wisdom, and near-immortal lifespans, designed to protect and cherish the world.
Rosthiel gifted the elves with vision beyond the material; they could perceive the lingering echoes of the Veil, the Land Beyond Reflections, allowing them glimpses into realms of magic and possibility. Duraminthra, in turn, instilled in them an understanding of permanence, ensuring they would be builders, poets, and guardians of creation rather than mere wanderers.
Legends tell that elves were once far closer to the Fey, their spirits shimmering with the raw magic of the Veil. Some believe that the first elves walked freely between worlds, only to be severed from that ability when Rosthiel wove the barrier between the planes. Others claim that the first elves were Fey who willingly chose mortality to dwell in the enduring world, sacrificing their immortality in exchange for deep meaning.
Regardless of the truth, elves have always felt the pull of magic and artistry. They are both architects and dreamers, preservers and visionaries, a people caught between the ephemeral beauty of the Veil and the enduring splendor of the mortal world.
Appearance
Elves are tall, graceful beings with an otherworldly elegance, their features refined and symmetrical and their ears taper to long, elegant points. Their eyes, often large and luminous, shimmer with traces of magic, reflecting hues of silver, gold, or vibrant greens and blues.
Their skin tones range from pale alabaster to deep, earthen hues, often carrying a faint glow when exposed to moonlight or strong magic. Hair colors are just as varied, from sunlit golds and fiery coppers to ashen silvers and midnight blues, sometimes appearing to shift subtly in different lighting.
Elves move with an innate fluidity, their gestures precise and intentional. Every motion, even the simplest, carries an unconscious grace, as though they are in tune with an unseen melody that other mortals cannot hear.
Magical Connection
Elves are naturally attuned to magic, particularly that which originates from the Veil. Many practice subtle spellcraft instinctively, weaving enchantments into their daily lives. Unlike humans, who must rigorously study magic, elves often develop it as an extension of their artistry and emotions.
