Blood Wine

Most who can say what blood wine is can easily find themselves drunk halfway through the first bottle. Thus, blood wine is a spiced, alcoholic drink for vampires that can either be flavored to hide the blood taste for those who cannot stand blood, such as the younger generation of vampires, or the drink can remain smelling of whatever blood type it contains.   Alcohol was first discovered by the werewolves in 1278 EoL, on the continent of Vash'gir. Due to this, alcohol became a drink that spread through the continent when it was pillaged from the werewolves by the Minuianto vampires. When Emperor Vladimir of the Itude Empire sailed from Vash'gir to Chymoús, he brought along recipes for various alcoholic drinks that would later become the process used in making blood wine.   The Lynx Syndicate are the ones responsible for running a side-gig of creating alcohol and this has helped them to discover the recipe for blood wine. Because of this, they have brought in plenty of money that is partially donated to the Raven Senate for use in the war. The rest of the money is used to either pay their employees, pay for upgrades to the brewery, or pay for more ingredients.   This drink was originally only found on Chymoús, but it was quickly distributed to other parts of the world, like Shálmâne and Vash'gir. Thus, blood wine has become a favored drink among vampires.   Due to its nature to get one massively drunk before a bottle is even finished, blood wine is considered a heavily intoxicating drink and is mainly used during holidays or by the noble families. Though, this can be a cause of concern with noble family members become too intoxicated and accidentally leaking massive and royal secrets.
Blood Type Scent/Taste
A+ Full-bodied, woody flavor with notes of cinnamon
O+ Robust and gamey with a strong finish
B+ Delicate and lingering with notes of vanilla and jasmine
AB+ Bold and acidic with undercurrents of liquorice
AB- Complex, but smooth, with hints of honey and a surprising floral finish
B- Delicate and lingering with notes of coconut and lavender
O- Robust and gamey with a fruity finish
A- Full-bodied, oceany flavor with notes of sea salt
There are a total of eight blood types and each type as a hearty scent to it, and although it can discerning to understand the scents, one must understand that certain blood types lean closer to others in meaning. For example, the O+ blood type can easily be mistaken for the O- blood type, and the same goes for B+ and B- blood types.

The Spices Within

To sum it up, an alcoholic drink is a drink that contains the recreational drug ethanol, a type of alcohol produced by fermentation of grains, fruits, or other sources of sugar. The consumption of alcohol plays an important social role in many cultures. In other words, alcohol is made from yeast feeding on sugar and it's the by-product. Yeast is considered a living organism, so in effect, yeast is in fact yeast pee.   Blood wine is simply made like mead, which is honey wine. It is created by fermenting honey with blood. Like beer, blood wine is made sometimes flavored with fruits, spices, grains, or hops. But it's generally higher in alcohol than beer and more in line with grape wine—typically between eight and twenty percent alcohol by volume (ABV). Also like wine, blood wine is produced in a variety of sweetness levels, from bone dry to lusciously sweet, and can be still or sparkling.

Making of Blood Wine

Blood wine will often ferment well at the same temperatures in which mead is fermented, and the yeast used in blood wine making is often identical to that used in mead making (particularly those used in the preparation of white wines). With many different styles of blood wine possible, there are many different processes employed, although the Lynx Syndicate will use techniques recognizable from wine-making. One such example is to rack the product into a second container, once fermentation slows down significantly.   Primary fermentation usually takes 28 to 56 days, after which the must is placed in a secondary fermentation vessel for 6 to 9 months of aging. Durations of primary and secondary fermentation producing satisfactory blood wine may vary considerably according to numerous factors, such as the floral origin of the honey and its natural sugar and microorganism contents, must water percentage, pH, additives uses, and strain of yeast. Although supplementation of the must with non-nitrogen based salts, or vitamins has been tested to improve blood wine qualities, no evidence suggests that adding micronutrients reduced fermentation time or improved quality. Cell immobilization methods, however, proved effective for enhancing blood wine quality.

Spices

Many spices are used when making blood wine, but the top being cinnamon, coconut, floral, fruits, honey, jasmine, lavender, liquorice, sea salt, and vanilla. But with the others that are used, they have distinct meanings with them. Depending on the blood type that is used when making blood wine, black pepper, cardamom, and tarragon can be used.   These spices can be mixed or used separately to enhanced the flavor of the blood wine. If mixed, they must balance one another out. For the use of the different blood types, one must understand the flavors of each one, as stated above.

Significance

After a long, stressful day of reviewing documents, signing documents, and dealing with hosting a variety of nobility parties, most vampires of drinking age pop open a bottle of blood wine to drink. This beverage allows for one to relax and forget about the stress of being born a noble. The biggest problem this poses is when a noble vampire becomes overly intoxicated that they cannot keep their mouth shut. This can also lead to secrets being spilled about the noble or royal families that would be better to keep sealed in the royal vault.

So I guess the expression, bad blood, originated when a bottle of Blood Wine went bad and someone served it any way!
