Wild Talents

Every player character in Dark Sun has latent psionic powers and will be a psionicist or wild talent. Wild talents can never approach psionicists in skill, but they do boast at least one psionic power which is known as a "psionic devotion" among psionicists.  

Using Wild Talents

Activating a Psionic wild talent does not count as an action and takes effect instantly. Unless the description states otherwise, psionicists require line of sight to their target when using a psionic power. You can use a wild talent once per day and you recover that power when you take a rest.  

Generating Wild Talent

During character creation, roll a d100 and consult the table below:

1-6 Blink This power allows the user to make a single teleportation up to near distance.
7-12 Body Equilibrium This power allows the user to adjust his body weight for 10 rounds to correspond to the surface he’s standing on. Thus, he can walk on water, quicksand, silt, or even a spider’s web without sinking or breaking through
13-18 Body Weaponry This power allows the user to convert one of his arms into a weapon for 10 rounds. Virtually any sort of weapon can be imitated, except ranged weapons (such as bows) or any weapon the user isn’t proficient with. The arm actually becomes rock, bone, wood, or metal and assumes the weapon’s form. It behaves in every respect like a normal weapon of the chosen type, with the bonus that it can’t be dropped or stolen.
19-24 Control Light This power allows the user to manipulate ambient light. Brighten a light source for 1 round to become blinding or extinguish a light source.
25-30 Control Sound This power allows the user to shape and alter existing sounds. A man’s words could emerge as a tagster’s roar, or the noise of marching soldiers can be made to sound like the wind of a sandstorm.
31-37 Far Hearing Choose a location you can see within far. You can hear as if you are in that location for 1d4 rounds.
38-43 Heightened Senses This power allows the user to sharpen all five of his normal senses: sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. With heightened senses, the user has a good chance to notice thieves hiding in shadows or moving silently for 10 rounds.
43-48 Inflict Pain This power is a particularly nasty form of torture, although no actual harm is inflicted on the target and the power leaves no physical scars or marks.
49-56 Know Direction You determine which way is north. For 1 hour, you gain ADV on WIS checks to navigate natural terrain.
56-62 Life Detection This power allows the user to scan for the presence of living, thinking creatures within far. This effect is not blocked by any kind of physical barrier.
63-67 Phase While this power is in effect, for 1 round you are phased and no physical force or energy can harm you, though other phased objects or creatures can do so.
68-76 Psionic Sense This power allows the user to detect psionic activity anywhere within far of his location. This effect is not blocked by any kind of physical barrier.
77-82 Send Thoughts This power allows the user to send his thoughts to another mind via one-way communication. He can send information or simply use the power to distract a target.
83-89 Telekinetic Grasp You manipulate a small object to move within near.
90-94 Though Projection You convey either an image or a message of 10 words or fewer to a target you can see.
95-99 * Choose one Wild Power.
100 ** Choose two Wild Powers.
