Blood in the Shadows

  When the Wars of the Blade spilled out from Quaznian space, Eastspace was spared initially. But when the Dark fields began to spring up from the stars of Eastspace the Wars of the Blade took on a literal meaning. Massive electromagnetic fields ripped away technology from whole hemispheres. Coupled with the EMFs was some new universal force that would render Faradon gear ineffective and the use of kinetic weapons minimal. Most were afraid that the Dark Age was about to begin again. The Giaks struck first, taking control of the shipbuilding yards they constructed but were under the administration of the Cassads. They also attacked and destroyed every embassy compound on all the Giak worlds thereby announcing their intentions. The Junns jumped in next, attempting a brazen attack on the Giak homeworld only to be rebuffed, overwhelmed by the Giak fleet newly equipped with the Cassad weapons upgrades their own people built but were not allowed to use on their own ships.
