Spring Town

  Spring Town is a town located in the Land of Ideas. It was built as a place for Souls to exist in the Spirit World, without experiencing any of its dangers. For the mortals who somehow travel outside the Land of Dreams, Spring Town is a haven for them. However, that doesn't mean the town is completely danger-free, as a few residents have found out.  

Competing Ideas

Spring Town is not a static town, in any sense of the word. It is constantly changed by humanoid ideas of what they want the town to look like. Without mortal constraints like money, time or manpower, people can change parts of their town in an instant with just their thoughts. This is the only power that mortals take with them to the Spirit World - the power of their imagination.   But with around 5,000 souls living in Spring Town, it can also pose many problems. For example, there is nothing to stop a bad actor from changing the town into a dangerous place. There was nothing to stop a mortal from attempting to change a person. There was no way of restoring something fully if someone else removes it from existence. But some ground rules have prevented the last two from happening now.  

Previous Names

The town was not always called Spring Town. In the past, there was not even a town in the Land of Ideas. Its first name was called Ideal Town, because it was the product of everyone's ideas and visions. It was seen as the perfect place. Sometimes, people wanted a different season, so the town was called Summer, Winter or Autumn Town.   According to a Spirit, it was also called a hellscape, because at one point, someone wanted to make the town more like a theatre play. Unfortunately, they took their vision too far and started locking the other citizens in certain roles and tropes. Thanks to the efforts of a few outsiders, they managed to stop the play and freed the other citizens.
