Spirit Anchors
"It stands to reason that whatever happens in the Mortal World must also happen in the Spirit World."
Spirit Anchors are objects or structures in the Mortal World with a direct equivalent in the Spirit Realms. For some strange reason, these objects have been duplicated in both planes and connect them both together. This means that they are a way of interacting with either plane, without needing technology such as a Spirit Portal. Many scholars believe they are places where the Spirit and Mortal Worlds collide and merge with each other.
Although anchors look similar in both planes (and often function in a similar way), there are no set rules for them. It is hard to determine what makes an anchor as there is a wide range of objects that become anchors. The only consistent thing about them is that they must be inanimate objects, and they must be infused with Arcana.
Types of Anchor
There are two types of anchor - object anchors and landmark anchors. Interacting with either of them brings different effects. Sometimes, an interaction with one anchor usually leads to an interaction with the other. These effects are usually temporary, and last from a few minutes to an hour. Most objects inside a landmark anchor can be considered object anchors. For this reason, many researchers and scholars have debated whether separating the two types is the correct way to go.
Object Anchors
It is surprisingly easy to get into the Spirit World by touching an object anchor, but it usually happens accidentally. Most of the time, they will end up in a scene involving that object. Sometimes, this is a memory that people can interact with. Other times, people end up in a landmark anchor, while still interacting with said object. The object anchor always looks slightly different when inside the Spirit World. It is hard to predict what will change, because anything on the object can change. Sometimes, the colour is different or the shape is slightly different. There is no way of knowing how the anchor will look in the Spirit World, or why it looks that way. Object anchors remain this way temporarily, and will go back to normal once they stop being infused with Arcana. They will also disappear from the foreign plane, which is usually the Spirit World.
Landmark Anchors
"Going inside these structures is like taking a nap, but falling into an immediate deep sleep. I've spent years trying to get back inside since that day, but I've had no success."
Landmark anchors are a different affair, and are what most people think of when they talk about spirit anchors. They are buildings, landmarks or large structures that have been replicated in the Spirit World. The first thing people notice about landmark anchors is that the objects inside have been changed in some capacity. Some things may not be in their original place, while others may have been changed entirely. Usually, the place is completely empty, or there are different people inside. This is often the best way to know whether a person has entered a landmark anchor.
Most landmark anchors have probably existed for hundreds of years. The most well-known one is the Jade Temple in the south of Asmara, which is where the Guardians of the Realms are based. Another anchor are the ruins of the Asitaro Palace which are underneath Phadoya Sea. Even after its destruction, its Spirit World duplicate remains fully intact.

True Origins
Many scholars believe that spirit anchors exclusively come from the Mortal World, as there are no permanent structures in the Spirit World. Others believe that some parts of the Spirit World duplicate themselves in the Mortal World. They use this theory as an explanation for some world mysteries, like why some structures may just suddenly appear and remain there for a long time.As with many things, the full truth may be a mix of many theories.
Interesting! Have landmark anchors ever disappeared from the mortal realm?

Most likely! It would probably be the stuff of legend if it happened
