Pyro Jetpack
Pyro jetpacks are personal flight machines invented by the young Kozoni Inazin Makato on his adventures. They utilise a fire propulsion system that mimics the way Pyro users push themselves into the air to "fly". They don't necessarily need magic to work, and can be used by anyone. They can also be tailor-made to each flyer for a more comfortable flight.
Flight only lasts as long as there is fuel and fire inside the tank. Smaller jetpacks can fly for up to 3 minutes, while larger ones can go on for 10 minutes. One jetpack also had wings that could be activated by cable, so the flyer could angle themselves mid-air.
Inazin made two small jetpacks for his friends Kitani Futoshi and Katla Fonat on their adventures. But after seeing how helpful they were, he experimented with more jetpacks, and tried making them more compact. But on the trio's adventures, many got destroyed.
Cable Actuation
Pyro jetpacks have two cables attached to it. Usually, the right cable activates the propulsion device while the left one deactivates it. Some jetpacks have them swapped around for left-handed people. The winged jetpacks have a third cable for activating the wings. The current jetpacks have parachutes integrated into them, also activated by cable. But, the first ones didn't, because they would get too bulky. Thankfully, the first jetpacks didn't go very high, so parachutes weren't essential and no-one got seriously hurt. But for people who were not built to withstand the fall impact, parachutes were integrated.Wing Gliders
Inazin first had the idea of a jetpack while working as a Cowpoke in Isinoki. He found it hard to chase animals and round them up whenever they got lost in the canyons. Isinoki, and the Sunlit Horizon in general, did not have the resources for mass transit, or personal vehicles. Bicycles were unreliable and using animals could be dangerous. So Inazin started creating designs of the first jetpacks from scratch. There was no magic on Isinoki at the time, so he took inspiration from birds. The first versions had wings rather than a propulsion device. They could not initiate flight, but he used them to glide around the island. Many of these only lasted one flight, because they were made from low-quality scrap metal.Jet Boosters
After the Ice Age, Inazin found new inspiration for his gliders. On his adventures with Katla and Futoshi, he found that people with Pyro used their fire to propulse themselves in the air. So he used that to make propulsion devices. Then, he incorporated the devices into a glider to make the jetpacks. The first jetpacks were single-use only, because the boosters didn't generate enough power to fly for long. One or two boosters also blew up before he could test them with actual people. The final iterations could fly for up to 3 minutes, which was good enough for Inazin.
