Levandurt Plants

  Levandurt are flowering plants that can grow and enhance their forms at will. They were existing plants in the North Pole that suddenly became sentient during the Ice Age. They also gained elemental powers. No-one knows how or why. There are no believable answers to any of these questions.   In their base (or flower) form, levandurt have small heads with many petals on top. They seem to have small eyes. They also have short stems with two or four leaves. These act as their “hands”. They can have one of four elements: ice, water, fire and lightning. Other elemental levandurt have not been discovered as of yet.  

Location

Levandurt grow at their fastest in the North Pole and the Known World. In the Known World, they are mainly found in the White Forest.   In the tropical continents, they do not grow as fast, but as long as they can find nutrient-rich soil, they will grow there. Despite coming from cold regions, they still grow quite fast and are now found all over the world.  

Growth States

“They grow like plants, but attack like humanoids.”

  Most of the time, they remain in their flower form. But when attacked or provoked, levandurt will grow and transform into the attack state. Younger plants cannot grow too large because they will tire themselves out. But older levandurt can grow very tall, and their petals enlarge. They can sustain the attack form for a few minutes but will get tired afterwards.   When they are in their attack state, they can also mimic their element, similar to a Dragon. They can spew their element or spit out elemental balls at their opponents. But this can tire them out even more, and they will return to their base state after ten seconds to rest. If they try to push through, the plants will run out of steam and need to sleep.   When they return to their flower form, levandurt will stay rooted in one place to regain their energy. They find nutrient-rich soil to rest in and stay there for as long as they need. When rooted, they fall asleep and photosynthesise like normal plants. The only difference between them and a normal plant is that they cannot be uprooted.  

Crafty Plants

  Aside from being mobile, levandurt are also sentient and seem to have their own personalities. Younger plants are natural tricksters and troublemakers. If people aren’t careful, they may find themselves with small burns or experience mini electric shocks.   As they grow older, levandurt become more protective of themselves and their friends. If a humanoid has adopted them, then they will protect their mortal friend, too. In the Known World, it is said that the most loyal friend one can have is a levandurt.
