Cocoa Rush

"Don't worry about him. When they eat chocolate, their brain goes, you know."
— Someone looking after their friend
It is said that Marogo cannot eat anything with cocoa inside. But unlike sea animals, it is not because cocoa is toxic to them. On the contrary, they love it. So much so that if they eat too much of it, they act as if they have a sugar rush. In reality, they are having a mild allergic reaction to it.   It is a temporary rush that only lasts for twenty minutes, but those can be the longest minutes of a Marogo's life. During this time, they will digest the cocoa as fast as possible, leading to random bouts of energy, among other things. Some people will purposely cause a cocoa rush so they can get stuff done faster.

Symptoms

For about twenty minutes, the Marogo will be at their most hyperactive. Many will get stuff done or do some energy-intensive activities during this time. Other symptoms include:
  • Extreme motion sensitivity
  • Faster reaction times
  • Chocolate/cocoa cravings
  • Rashes and spots on the skin
  • Headaches or migraines
A weirder side effect of consuming cocoa is that the affected will have tunnel vision. No-one really knows why. Rarer side effects also include sensitivities to certain lights and sounds.
"A word of warning: do not provoke a Marogo when they have a cocoa rush. They are already quite strong and have good reaction times without one. Trust me, it will not end well for you."
— A Phadoyan doctor

Treatment

Once the person enters the cocoa rush state, keep all cocoa products away from their eyes (and noses in some cases). If they see it, they will go and eat it.   People usually let the affected tire themselves out before guiding them to a chair or bed. If they can still stand or are very chatty, they might be experiencing a cocoa rush. But sometimes, this is not enough. Some people are danger-prone, so they need to be kept away from all sorts of places for their safety.

High Energy

Most people are amazed by the amount of energy the affected will have. For about 20 minutes, they can do quite a lot. Some people use this to their advantage and will induce a cocoa rush to get things done faster. Whether the costs are worth the progress is up to them.
