Pactmage

There is always something waiting, listening, offering to the desperate. A Pactmage has made a Pact with another being, and in doing so given that being power over them. From Spirits to Gods, the Pactmage is shaped by the obligation of the Pact. Sometimes agreed to under duress, other times sought out with promises of fealty, the Pactmage has suborned their Will to their Patron.

Patron

Patrons are powerful entities who the Pactmage has gotten the attention of and has agreed to grant the Pactmage power in exchange for something. What that is depends on the Pact and depends on the Patron. Patrons generally are entities that fall into six categories:

  • Beyonder Those beings that originate beyond the bounds of Creation, to the realms of madness and nonexistence.
  • Celestial Those beings that serve the Gods.
  • Elemental Beings of power native to the Elemental Planes.
  • Fae Lords of the Undying Lands.
  • Infernal Fell beings always looking for the desperate to make a deal.
  • Primal The very forces of Creation themselves.

Specialties

Bladebound

Warriors who channel their Pact through a weapon bestowed upon them by their Patron.

Embodier

Embodiers give themselves over to their Pact, becoming the embodyment of their Patron and their agent in the Mortal Realms.

Hexbound

Masters of channeling the power of their pact to greater magical effect. With their knowledge inscribed in Grimoirs, the Hexbound tinker and shape the power granted by their Patron.
