Nexus Mercantile
Initially created as a pidgin on Nexus to facilitate trade by the Duranti Empire, it combined the grammar of Duranish with words from Baeoran, Dothrarni, and Valatian. As the Empire expanded it picked up interesting vocabulary and grammar from any culture it came in contact with. Even after the collapse of the Empire, Nexus Mercantile continued to expand as new languages were encountered.
Originally considered a low prestige language of trade, as Nexus Mercantile has expanded so did its utility. By the Accords Era, Nexus Mercantile the most common language shared across all cultures and its use in art and poetry was beginning. While it didn't supersede Duranish or Valatian as the language of high art, it did become recognized as a language useful for nuance and artistry.
