Adherent

Called to serve by the Gods and channel their power into the Mortal Realm Adherents tend to join faith based hierarchies that allow them to follow their Call.

The Call

Before the desire to serve — even before the faith — a potential Adherent hears the call. Believed to be caused by a fragment of Divinity lodging in their soul through which the divine calls to the Mortal. However the Call is not from a specific god, but to a Domain. Adherents who heed that Call seek out a Divinity that can channel that Domain. Often times the God or Saint sought out is in the Pantheon the Called Mortal already reveres. However, for Called Mortals of cultures who do not worship a God that supports that domain or there isn't one in their Pantheon of Gods that supports their domain, they may travel the Spheres in search of a Divinity to serve and heed their call.

Domains

These are areas of power that a God or Saint can grant to their Adherents. Most Saints can grant one or two domains, as such their Adherents can be limited. But Gods can generally grant two or three Domains. But regardless of the Domains the Divinity can provide, the Adherent can only channel the one Domain of their Call.

Rejecting Faith

There are those who reject the Call, forsaking the search for a Divinity. They do not gain benefits from their Calling without a Divinity whose power they channel.

There are those Adherents that reject the Divinity that they worship, either they violate a tenet of faith, or they reject the teachings of that Divinity. In that case they remain able to channel that domain's power, but lack the source of that power. Adherents may seek out another Divinity who can offer the same Domain's power to restore their access to that power.

Specialties

Cleric

Clerics focus on channeling the power of their Divine. They can create additional effects through their channeling of their Domain.

Inquisitor

Going where the angels fear to tread, the Inquisitor is the strong arm of the Faith. Channeling their connection to the Divine into fearsome martial prowess, the Inquisitor seeks the enemies of the Faith.

Orator

Through the exhortation of their Divinity, the Orater demonstrates their power to the masses. Bolstering allies and rebuking enemies the Orator exhalts in their connection with the Divine.
