Tarak Al-Jabal (Tah-Rack-AL-Jah-Bahl)
Hajib Tarak (a.k.a. Al-Jabal (The Mountain))
Hajibi Tarak ibn Salman al-Jabal (Translated from Bardiyan: Tarak, child of Saman, the Mountain), known as Tarak Al-Jabal, Eljabel (in the Vallarsian tongue) or simply just Al-Jabal, was a Bardiyan Human commander, official, and the 1st Hajib (Steward) of the Al-Vaylar Amirate (which he also founded) who lived in the late 2nd and early 3rd Eras. A brilliant and entrepreneurial general, Al-Jabal led the Bardiyan Invasion of the Alvallar Peninsula in South-Western Moureve, and conquered swathes of territory from the ruling Vaiguts in the west, south and central regions of the peninsula. As his nickname suggests, Tarak was notably tall, standing at around 6ft 5, and was immovable in every sense of the word. The Al-Vaylar Amirate was founded by him out of his conquered territories, however he did not take the ruling title of Amir in order to appease the Sultans and Amirs back home in Bardiya, instead dividing the territory up between his noble friends who had financed the expedition and taking the non-ruling title of Hajib (meaning Steward). This did not work however, and after decades of back and forth with the other Bardiyan states alongside war in Alvallar, Al-Jabal was assassinated, likely on the order of a Sultan back home in an attempt to preserve Tawazun, the balance of power in Bardiya, on 2nd Monsday (9th), Month of Deserts, AP 693.
