Orcish Tribes of Kquimlar (Or-Kish-Try-buzz)

The "Orcish Tribes" are a collective designation for the myriad tribal units of Orcs present on the Island of Kquimlar. So called "War-bands" (through not necessarily looking for war) are spread all around the continent, but the vast majority of these peoples dwell on the Eastern Leg of Kquimlar, mostly on the coasts and small islands in that area.   The state of Orcs in Modern Kquimlar is a sad one indeed, and one that was not always so. Only around 40 years before present day (CR 10059/PP 1531), the Orcs of Kquimlar were united within a grand empire flying the banner of legendary Orcish warrior Ga'zsacz the Liberator. Once but a farm-hand from Kquimlar during the time of the Old Empires, Ga'zsacz rose up and marshalled the then-marginalized common folk of Kquimlar against their oppressors, leading a vast army and carving out a land for orcs and all their kin to live free. His actions were so major, it is said that Ga'zsacz kick-started the Secession Fever of the 5th age himself, causing the Second Collapse singlehandedly. However, after Ga'zsacz's disappearance after destroying the last enemy citadel singlehandedly, his generals enacted their own plans, making the "Holy Ga'zsacz Empire" extremely orc-centric, leaving everyone else who had fought in Ga'zsacz's uprising high and dry.   This Empire was a prominent one for the time, being one of the first proper states to come from the Second Collapse. However, cracks formed early and plagued the nation throughout it's existence. One major point of contention was the mistreatment of Half-Orcs and other varied orc-folk, as well as the status of the Goblinoids. The stratocracy that ruled the land were aggressive, believing that Ga'zsacz's wish would have been to conquer all of Kquimlar. It was also a problem trying to balance assorted tribal identities with the stratocrats' view of what a "True" orc was. Generally, there was always war and the control of the government was inordinately loose.   When the Holy Ga'zsacz Empire collapsed in CR 10017 (PP 1489), it was not unexpected but was still a tragic event. Many were displaced, with large tribal alliances attempting to conquer as much territory of the old state as they could, causing untold suffering. However, the popular theory explaining this collapse states the straw that broke the camel's back was the miraculous return of Ga'zsacz himself. Proponents of this theory claim that Ga'zsacz never actually died attacking the final enemy citadel, being taken just before losing his life by the Orcish God, "Great One-eye" Gruumush, to serve as his exarch in Nisherk. After many years of loyalty, Gruumush sent Ga'zsacz back down to Dagan to spread his "true words". However, as Ga'zsacz returned to see the ancestors of his generals, he was horrified at the atrocious grievances that had been perpetrated in his name as well as how far the nation had fallen from the "true words". It is then proposed that Ga'zsacz destroyed the Stratocracy of the Holy Ga'zsacz Empire and assumed an unknown alias to hide from his actions and continue to spread Gruumush's word.   Despite the possible credence of this theory, it's interpretation very much differs between different orcs due to the constant philosophical/religious battle between "Old-Thok" and "Nu-Thok" everpresent within Orcish society around Dagan. These two ideals represent the two different interpretations of the Orcish Creation Myth.   In CR 10059, a break-away warband of orcs from the "Chosen of Gruumush" tribe took up residence in the abandoned construction site of the city formerly known as "The Seat". They began regularly assaulting the North-East Wall of the nearby city of Elvastad after provocation by officials (secretly members of the Zhushima Crime Syndicate) who wanted to reclaim the land. The desperate guard captain of the North-East Wall hired the Fool's Menagerie in order to get rid of the threat. Upon arrival, both the party and the Orcs were ready for violence, however a last minute intervention by Fool's Menagerie ally and Half-Orc Rohelda allowed a peaceful solution to be arranged. The break-away warband agreed to stop attacking the walls and move away from The Seat, instead being directed to Sithim and it's Emperor, Shumar Ghaffar Hashite, in order to be granted land to settle.
