Bermangrian (Brrr-Mann-Gurr-Eee-Ahn)

Bermangrians, called 'Arktomand' in their own language and often known as the Urman to outsiders, are a humanoid ethnic group encompassing the various peoples from the Island of Bermangr. Although the term 'Urman', refering to a kind of raider originating from Bermangr, as being synonymous with those living on the island, this is not the case. Despite Bermangr remaining shrouded in mystery as to its location, academic study has largely concluded that the term Arktomand refers to the people, and that Urman was the title given to those who occupied a profession of raiding and settling that originated from there.   Bermangrians are divided among the three Kingdoms that rule parts of the Island of Bermangr and its surrounding archipelago; these are the kingdoms of Sigarnia to the East, Norngamar to the North and West, and Thiborg to the South. These kingdoms were until recently united under the Union of the Griffin, but this collapsed in 1503 AP.
