Daestara World of the Veil

Daestara is a world that lies right on the edge of the veil between the prime material and the other planes. Its position within the multiverse has garnered the attention of many a power, particularly ones lost and seeking a new home, such as sojourning Elves from a distant, long-forgotten world, and ancient, forgotten gods.
Steeped in magic both ancient and new, Daestara long ago broke the veil in an event known as the Great Conjoining, when even the gods themselves walked the land for a time.
Since then the veil has all but been repaired, but their effects have lasted, for before them such beasts as dragons had never been seen, and the being known as Valthyrr lies beneath the ocean, waiting to be awakened once more.
