The Sons of Avlar

ver a century ago, a cult known as the Sons of Avlar came to prominence. Preaching for a world where Avlar's dominance stretched beyond the mortal world and that his power would eclipse the gods, they spread fear and death across Avlar's Folly from their hideout in Wallsend.   The leaders of this cult recruited impressionable young boys, taught them the power of the arcane arts and filled their heads with fantasties of Old Avalon and the power that Avlar once wielded, then unleashed them upon the world. Cult members spread distrust and dismay across the Empire, destroying religious buildings, slaying followers of the Avanís Pantheon and actively opposing all established religion. Neighbours turned on eachother, as the Sons blended in with normal citizens with ease.   The cult was officially disbanded a century ago, after the leaders of the cult were rooted out by the combined resources of the Founding Fathers and an adventuring party in their employ. Despite their fall many years ago, travellers may still occasionally tell the story of a village passed through that had been pestered by a group of young local boys claiming to be descended from Avlar.
