Bastion

  This landmark stretches tall above the Golden Sea of the Thousand Mile Steppe, located on the promantory of the rivers leading to Dol Gadmen and looking out over the eastern cliffs of Daënfel towards the sea.   The origins of the Bastion tower are a mystery. The workmanship resembles that of the estates within Dol Gadmen, however no house claims this building as their own. There are no doors to the tower at the ground level. Arcane practitioners who have entered the tower from the sky and explored the interior report that it is unremarkable - plain rooms lacking in furnishings or decoration and bearing no signs of use.   Some hedgeling wizards have taken up residence in the tower over the centuries, however none have stayed for more than a year or two. Most state that a feeling of unease grew, as sounds could sometimes be heard scuttering around during the night, or that an eerie whistling of the winds between the stonework could be maddening while trying to sleep.   Bastion became a key part in the conflict between Clan Fury and the Empire two decades ago. Mages of the Conclave of the Fifth were stationed here to protect the inlet and scour the coast for raider ships following the coastline.
