Dúath Shadowstep

By Elvish standards, Dúath was still a child at a mere 110 years old when his enclave was attacked by an unspeakable demonic entity with a sheer neverending multitude of undead servants. With his family dead and his home in shambles, he fled through the woods until he happened upon a group of mercenaries calling themselves The Band of the Hawk. After hearing his story and doubling back to the charred remains of what used to be a flourishing Elvish village, they took him in and educated him in some of the seedier aspects of the mercenary lifestyle. Dúath took a shine to their leader, a peg-legged man named Gambino, until - one fateful night - he found Gambino in his tent, finalizing some sort of infernal pact with a demon much like the one that had annihilated Dúath's home. Feeling betrayed by what he had come to regard as his second family, he once more made his way into the woods, and devoted his life to hunt down the forces of evil, particularly those of demonic or undead origin, wherever they may roam. As a result of his past, his trust is not earned easily, but he will occasionally ally with those who share his goals - although he will generally scout ahead or stay hidden in the back. He very much prefers the wilderness to the bustling chaos of urban settings, but will - albeit reluctantly - enter cities if there are agents of chaos to be slain.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Dúath is small and lithe even for an elf. He is clad in a Ranger's outfit composed almost exclusively of shades of green and brown, so as to enable him to blend into the forest areas which represent his main hunting grounds. His features are usually obscured by a hood and bandana. As such, even his allies generally don't get a good look at his face - whereas his enemies, more often than not, don't get a good look at him, period, before they are dealt a swift death. Dúath uses a longbow as his primary weapon, but will occassionally wield a rapier or shortsword if the situation calls for it.

Small and lithe even for an elf; Dúath is nonetheless equally reliable as a compatriot and deadly as an enemy. Currently exploring the depths of Mt. Mentiri with his fire-forged friends in order to stop a great calamity.
