Variant Rule: Spell Points
Mana Pool vs Spell Slots
The Land of Isekai is one that overflows with magic and innate power. Because of this, the idea of spell slots is not used here but instead, casters have access to a pool of magical energy that allows them flexible casting of their magic. The idea of using spell points is similar to having a mana bar, it refills when you take a long rest and any feature or trait that would restore spells slots or reference them will instead function with the equivalent amount of spell points.
In order to use spell points, you deduct the corresponding amount of spell points required by the spell's level as indicated by the casting chart. When you level up you will gain a number of spell points shown by the spell point chart according to what level you are. However, all characters do not gain spell points equally which brings about the discussion of separating them into groups: Expert Casters, Intermediate Casters, Amateur Casters, Novice Casters.
- Expert Casters will gain spell points at every level of their progression as shown by the Expert Caster chart and these include: Bards, Clerics, Druids, Geomancers, Sorcerers, Rune Mages, Witches, and Wizards.
- Intermediate Casters will gain spell points at every level of their progression as shown by the Intermediate Caster chart and these include: Alchemists and Red Mages.
- Half Casters will gain spell points at every other level of their progression as shown by the Half Caster chart and these include: Paladins and Rangers.
- Novice Casters will gain spell points at every three levels of their progression as shown by the Novice Caster chart and these include: Eldritch Knights, Arcane Tricksters and any class that gains magic only through their exposure to a specific archetype in their class.
- Warlocks and Shamans are unique in the respect that they cannot and do not use a spell point system. Their magic comes from other means and is not compatible with this system, refer to the custom spell casting systems that are established by their classes.

lines it out nicely. I prefer spell points but hate explaining it
We took the chart from the DMG for full casters and essentially did all the math for 3/4, 1/2. and 1/3 casters so there was no confusion for players. Feel free to use it for your group!
