Session 1 Report

The newly established group of adventurers that includes Kira Haerwick, Red Scales and Beranz decided to start taking quests from the Adventurer's guild. Before setting out, they enlisted the help of Kartus to function as their frontline.
Their first assignment was to bodyguard Sebastianus of Mariboras during his venture into the Noble district's gardens. Turns out the man is a loon who was under no threat whatsoever, instead hiring the party to show off to the nobles. The party wasted three hours of their time and got paid 15 gp apiece for their trouble, leaving opinions on the affair divided within the group.
Following that, the party took a quest to explore an abandoned house that has stood derelict in the city for a very long time. Before heading to the house the party met with their employer, the High Priest Godrick . He seemed like a serious person who did not look upon the party very favorably. Regardless, the group made an excursion to explore the domicile, finding it for the most part in ruin with a small number of creatures and hazards. The only location of note was a hidden study that contained a tome on biological alchemy.
As they were considering leaving, they decided to check out the basement once more, finding a hidden path that led to a laboratory. Exploring further, they found a statue of Sanat with a lever beside it, as well as two adjacent rooms filled with vats connected to pipes going into the ceiling. Out of curiosity the party pulled on the lever, which seemed to cause a mechanism to pump some sort of liquid into the vats. As a result, a number of corpses that were stored within have been animated and the horde attacked the party. The adventurers wisely decided to leg it, reporting to Godrick who awaited them outside, with a crowd of onlookers and armed clerics. After being informed of the situation Godrick began yelling at the crowd, professing the uselessness of adventurers guild, and promising the crowd that the Church has the situation under control. Despite the showing he paid the party an agreed upon amount.
As the party retired for the day, they discussed the events and Beranz the cleric has decided to try and get back at this slight. The rest of the day was spent eating and drinking back at the guildhouse.
