Mamoona

Mamoona are the mysterious fey folk that live in the forests of Cynkard. They are kind but mischevious, as befits the nature of a fey.

Childlike and Androgynous

At first glance a mamoona appears to be a human child of indeterminate gender. Upon a second glance however one can notice unusual features, namely  pair of animal ears and a matching animal tail. Mamoona are effectively gender fluid, capable of switching between genders, as well as changing their animal characteristics, although the tail and ears always match. While the age of a mamoona is a mystery as far as anyone can tell, their behavior is comparable to a mature child. They are playful and like performing pranks, but know when to line is and when to be serious.

Secret Homes

Mamoonas are rarely seen in civilized society outside of villages placed next to forests. Normally however they live within the forest in secret communities that seem to be unfindable for any other race unless directly led there. Within these little communities they live in harmony with nature, with animals that do not fear them and in fact often live among them. Reportedly they do not make homes but grow them within the trees.

Inventors of Druidism

The druidic magic was unknown in Cynkard before the appearance of the mamoona who have a natural affinity towards this magic. It is unknown who was the first human to be taught the arts, or if it even was a human or some other race, but ever since the art has evolved into many different circles. The actual source of such magics is not entirely known,, some circles believing it's another magic gifted by Javat, others believing to be a natural magical energy of the natural world, while yet others claiming it is simply taken directly from the Feywild. Mamoonas, as with most things, do not know nor care.

Mamoona Traits

 

• Ability Score increase: Your Wisdom score increases by 2. Your Strength Decreases by 2.
• Age: It is completely unknown how long mamoonas live for and they do not keep track.
• Alignment: Most mamoonas are neutral and/or good.
• Size: Mamoonas are between 3 and 4 feet tall. Your size is small.
• Speed: Your base walking speed is 25 feet.
• Darkvision: Accustomed to twilit forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
• Ally of Nature: You can speak to animals and give them simple instructions if they trust you. They understand you but you can't understand them back beyond what an animal is capable of communicating without magic.
• Fey Ancestry: You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
• Mask of the Wild: You can attempt to hide even when you are only lightly obscured by foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, and other natural phenomena
• Druidic Training: You learn one cantrip from the druid spell list.
• Favored classes: Druid, Ranger and Thief.
• Languages: You can speak, read, and write Merchant and Druidic.
