Isaac Madi
A Sudanese corporate exec whose family lost an enormous fortune and their entire company when nuclear conflict destroyed the Middle East in 1997. His parents didn’t make it, but he managed to escape the fallout with his wife, his young children, and enough money to resettle comfortably. He came to Milan, only to find that his name would no longer open doors and he was lumped in with the rest of the refugees.
Appalled at the treatment of immigrants and firmly entrenched in the Muslim belief in charity work, he sunk what money and connections he could still dredge up into creating Liberty Immigrant Services Center, and kept it going all through the military occupation.
