To start playing in Cyberpunk RED (2060) you need to create a character. Creating a character is quite simple, even if it looks complicated at first. This process will be done in steps and will be explained in short summaries.
Step 1. What type of character do you want to play?
Rockerboy
The bard of the Cyberpunk universe. Whether they are street poets, rappers, celebrities, or rock stars they all use their charisma to influence others for their own personal gain.
Solo
They are the DND Fighter class, mercenaries with direct combat bonuses. This role is a great baseline for a new player to understand the game.
Netrunner
HACK THE PLANET! These are the hackers of the group, the only role which can interact with net space. They are characters which fight in both the physical and virtual world at the same time.
Tech
These characters can upgrade and create new items, as well as repair damaged ones. Many Techs have designed wild and crazy new armor and weapon designs.
MedTech
The only characters able to do surgery and operate other medical systems. These characters are the healers of the group.
Media
This entire class is based around bending the truth and controlling the news. Every sensational piece on the news has ulterior motives, and a media pushing them.
Exec
This class works for a corporation and gets great bonuses like free housing and corporate NPCs to accompany them. Don't treat them badly because they will report you to HR.
Lawman
You can really try to fix the city's crime and protect the people, or will you abuse power and be tempted by corruption? You call in backup from your precinct to assist you.
Fixer
Fixers are the human personification of craiglist. They can get you anywhere or anything for a price. You need a kill team on the guy who cut you off the freeway? Somebody to shop groceries for your grandmother? A precious jewel stolen from a vault? All three? They are your men, and they always know a guy.
Nomad
You shall ride eternal. Shiny, and chrome! This role is Mad Max in quite literally every way. They specialize in any job relating to driving vehicles. They also can back their driving skills with mechanical ability to match. Most live in badlands and abandoned cities and use scavenged technology.
Summary
These are the available classes to play. If you are unsure what class to choose, you should always choose a Solo and use your improvement points (we will talk about those later! its like exp) to branch out into other classes once you have a better understanding of how the game plays. Every character adds different elements and utility, while solo just has added combat bonuses for them. If a class does seem very interesting to you they are posted from the handbook into the articles on the left!
