Spellwrought Tattoo
A speciality of the Vistani, magical tattoos are practical when moving about as you don't have to remember to pack any scrolls or spellbooks. Usually favouring defensive spells, these spellwrought tattoos offer versatility while being visually pleasing, their motif mirroring the spells they hold.
Produced by a special needle, this magic tattoo contains a single spell of up to 5th level, wrought on your skin by a magic needle. Once the tattoo is there, you can cast its spell, requiring no material components. The tattoo glows faintly while you cast the spell and for the spell's duration. Once the spell ends, the tattoo vanishes from your skin. You can hold up to your level in spell-levels of tattoos on your skin at one time, and you are only able to have up to 3 of the same spell, you can have any amount of cantrips and they are not limited to 3 each. Each Spell takes 1 hour per spell level to Tattoo, cantrips requiring only 10 minutes. If you bring a spell scroll to a tattoo mage, they can make a design for it, taking the spells level times 3 days to design and costing the standard price to commission after which it can be ordered like any other spell tattoo.
The level of the spell in the tattoo determines the spell's saving throw DC, attack bonus, spellcasting ability modifier, and the tattoo's rarity, as shown in the Spellwrought Tattoo table.
