As a Major role, whenever you take a short rest you can grant two people one additional hitdie to roll.
In addition When you use a healer's kit to stabilize a dying creature, that creature also regains 1 hit point.
At level 8 the amount of hitdice granted increases to two.
And as an action, you can spend one use of a healer's kit to tend to a creature and restore 1d6 + 4 hit points to it, and allowing the creature to use one of its hit dice. The creature can't regain hit points from this again until it finishes a short or long rest.
Time heals all wounds, but sometimes you need a little help to stop the bleeding.
As a healer you can patch up just about any injury. Your extensive experience allows you to mend wounds quickly and get your allies back in the fight. You could be dealing out the damage but what is more satisfying than seeing your friends surviving mortal injuries at your hands.
I'll tell you whats more satisfying, Them not getting that injured in the first place. I know you think of me as an insurance plan, but just because you have insurance doesn't mean you go out of your way to get injured, Yes I am looking at you Barbarian. Oh sorry, I heal, yes, but do not get hurty without it doing good stuff also. No? I give up...
Whenever you tend to a creatures wounds during a short rest, they can remove an additional failed deathsave.
