Close up of Volsin Village, a small town that struggled mightily with crime after the Volsin Mine closure about 40 years ago. The past 6 months have seen massive urban investment by the Baron Council as well as a moderate Yuan-Ti faction that has adopted the town as their base of operations and eliminated the threat posed by Carpocratian cultists and wererat infiltrators, as well as sharply reducing crime in the area - though the movement of narcotics by the Glass Street Shankers appears to still proceed without reduction. These benefactors and new settlers have repaired civic and private structures, refurbished the bank, town hall, stables, and completed a major renovation of the Temple, reopened the baths, and established a seasonal stall-market in the central part of town. However there are still more seedy locales fiercely supported by unhappy 'old timers' like Scupper Grandy's "Vole's Inn" and the ragpicker hovels near the village's oversized garbage mound.
