Élodie has a natural beauty, both as a result of good genes and her siren background. Not many would know this, however, as Élodie spends a significant amount of time attempting to perfect her appearance. She refuses to be seen as anything less than flawless.

Élodie struggled to accept her sexuality. She was raised in a conservative environment, where anything other than heterosexuality was seen as 'obscene'. She was taught that she should marry a man with status and that marriage would most likely be decided for her. It was incredibly difficult for her to accept that she could possibly be "imperfect". Élodie was never bothered by her romantic orientation. When she was younger, she assumed that she'd start 'feeling things' when she got older. As she grew, she realized she did feel non-platonic attraction but had no understanding of romantic attraction. She never thought much about it; however, as she was raised to view relationships as a tool.
