Astrum Academy

Foundation

In the aftermath of the Arcane Purge, and decades after its conclusion, when magic was scarce and its practitioners few, a visionary dragon in human guise approached the leaders of the kingdom after more than two decades of recovery. Recognizing the art of magic's potential—both dangerous and promising—this enigmatic being proposed the establishment of a magical academy, a refuge where aspiring spellcasters could be trained in the responsible and disciplined use of their powers.   Guided by the wisdom of the dragon, whose true identity remained a closely guarded secret, the leaders embraced the idea of a magical school. Thus, in 554 PCE, the renowned institution known as Astrum Academy was founded. Located in the capital of the kingdom, the towering spires of the school rose as a symbol of hope and enlightenment.   Astrum became a sanctuary for those gifted with magical abilities, offering a curriculum that emphasized mastery not only of spells but also of the ethical principles of magic. Students were taught to harness their powers responsibly, understanding the consequences of unchecked magical forces.   The dragon Thalassa, in her human form, served as a mysterious benefactor and wise mentor to the school. Her teachings were interwoven into the curriculum, inspiring a new generation of spellcasters to embrace a harmonious relationship with magic and learn from the mistakes of the past.   Decades later, Astrum Academy stands as a beacon of magical education and enlightenment. Graduates, armed with knowledge and ethics, venture into the kingdom, contributing to the restoration and progress of the world while upholding the legacy of the dragon’s vision.

The School

The academy's curriculum is comprehensive, covering a wide variety of magical disciplines. Students from diverse backgrounds and regions come together to learn the intricacies of arcane spellcasting, divine magic, the magical forces of nature, and the ethical use of magic. The faculty, composed of experienced mages and mystical scholars, impart their knowledge with a focus on responsibility and the prevention of past mistakes.   Astrum’s library is a treasure trove available to students, consisting of ancient tomes, magical manuscripts, and scrolls dating back centuries. Hidden chambers within the school contain relics of forgotten magic and artifacts imbued with mysterious powers. The academy’s arcane archives serve not only as a repository of knowledge but also as a safeguard against forbidden practices that could lead to the resurgence of dark magic.   Astrum graduates leave the academy not only as bearers of magic but as stewards of its responsible use. They embark on missions, contribute to the kingdom’s prosperity, and uphold the principles instilled within the sacred halls of the magical institution.

I would have loved to go to school here and you used really great art. I like that the school makes sure that the use of magic is also ethical and that it is used with care. I hope you add things like a timetable, the content of the individual subjects or how to graduate here. I like the different extracurricular clubs that make it more authentic. Oh and the images in the picture gallery are great and seem to show an interesting school life. I would like to know more about that.

Summer Camp is back! Rippling waves lead you to my answers of this year's prompts.
