In 747Y, Astrum sent Elias, an Aurali Serat, to Vin with a false story as part of an effort to gather information on the Demons who had recently mastered Odic energy. Laelea Kanete, the legendary Imperator, was offended by this attempt to play her for a fool and sent the spy back with unconscious programming in his mind.

Upon arriving back in Astrum, surrounded by his fellow Aurali Serat, Elias's programming was triggered, beginning a slaughter that would only end when Elias himself had fallen. Laelea, watching through his eyes, whispered "I see you" through his dying mouth.

This incident was the true beginning of the Silent War.
