Storminium Crystal

A dark glowing blue crystal crackling with lightening would be the first impression of someone lucky enough to acquire such a powerful arcane material. This crystal is much sought out by miners for even a single one can grant a great fortune to the person.

    Material Characteristics

    An opaque dark blue crystal shard, with what appears to be a bolt of lightning caught inside it. The lightning is constantly sparking and moving around inside the crystal, though while in this form it does not leave.

    Physical & Chemical Properties

    The crystal is cold to the touch, however a vague static feeling surrounds it. The crystal stores a large amount of energy inside it, with the correct technology this energy is able to be extracted and utilised. Once expended, the crystal will return to electrum crystal shards where it can then be further refined and utilised.

    Compounds

    The two main ingredients to making the storminium crystal are electrum crystals and a bold of lightning. However, it is theorised that trace amounts of other minerals may aid in the process.

    The Storminium Crystal is created when a bolt of lightning strikes a shard of pure electrum.

    History & Usage

    History

    As with many other mysterious technologies and materials, the Storminium Crystal was first utilised by the ancient storm giants. After their way of life was lost to time, the Crystal was forgotten about until it was discovered again far later in time. However the use of the Crystal was not discovered until late 31 PR where the Kobold scientist, Elnura Beldrum, discovered it was the fuel for ancient engines underneath a storm giant fortress.
