Dryn's Journal

Dryn is a young transman that is travelling across the lands to develop ways to change his gender physically, from a young age he knew of two things, one that he wasn’t a girl and two that he loved magic and was good at it. Dryn was lucky enough to learn how to read and write when he was a child, as his older brother was taught, Dryn would steal the books so that he could teach himself, just so that he could read and write spells. When he first embarked on this journey he was worried that he wouldn’t be able to remember all his findings and he wouldn’t be able to take all the books that he wanted to read, so he bought a journal from the money he made selling the flowers and herbs he collected.   His journal is his most precious belonging, it is he has recorded all of his findings from herbology potion findings, to the best place to find specific flowers, to tracking the supermoon and transcribing maps or spells he needs to continue his journey.   The journal itself is a dark worn leather that folds over all the paper inside the book, the paper inside is varied from the thick parchment it came with that was bound with a cream waxy cord to the individual sheets of thin parchment that he’s gained and scribbled on along the way. Each of these pages apart from the last group at the back are all filled with drawings and scribbles of writing that cover each part of the page. Some are detailed drawings of plants and flowers to find and how to include them in spells, whilst others are thoughts and feelings that need to be written down before they’re forgotten. The most important pages are the ones that detail the final recipe for making his hormone replacement potion. After years of trying he finally found the best combination of herbs and chants that will replicate the effects of testosterone in his body, of course Dryn doesn’t know that’s what the potion does on a biological level as they don’t have the knowledge of the human body yet. But he does know that it’s a transfiguration spell that amplifies the male aspects in his body.
