Cleftport

Cleftport lies on the northwestern coast of Ennostwell, First of the Eight. It is the name of both the trading ports on the ocean and the town that supports them. It gets its name from the larger cleft in the rocky coastal cliffs that was formed by the river Pral . The Pral flows down through the Ollos Forest and is one of the three major rivers on Ennostwell. When it arrives at the coast it begins to cut through softer rock and by the time it hits the coast it has carved a canyon about a hundred feet deep, halfway down the cliffs. It rushes out into the ocean as a massive waterfall. Around the base of the waterfall are the docks of Cleftport. Several elevator systems exist to raise and lower goods up to the roads and warehouses that line the insides of the canyon. The actual town of Cleftport is built into the floor and walls of the canyon and exists as a method of transferring goods from river vessels and land wagons to the elevators that deliver down to the docks.
