The Embercallers

The Embercallers are secret descendants of the Bimathid line, their heritage obscured even to themselves by oaths and generational memory-loss rituals. Their order predates the Sentinel, acting as watchers of the deeper divine functions of the True Isles. They guard a failsafe designed to restore the divine cycle in the event of Sentinel collapse, named The Emberhold. They exist solely to ensure there is a divine solution that does not require direct intervention from the gods.

Structure

Flame-Tongues

Speakers and interpreters of visions from the Seed and Emberhold. Also responsible for patrolling the Emberhold and locating the party.

- Auravi

Ancestral Echo: Elven   Personality: Quiet and unnervingly observant. Each sentence she speaks feels like the end of a paragraph she’s already read in your mind.   Visual Description: Slender and tall, standing with a posture so fluid it seems weightless. Pale violet skin veined with faint glowing lines. Hair like melted silver, hovering slightly as if immune to gravity. Eyes with inward-spiraling irises that draw focus deeply inward. Wears robes of blackened petals and ember-thread.

-Brenn

Ancestral Echo: Dwarven   Personality: Gruff, unfazed, philosophical. Speaks in parables and iron-edged truths.   Visual Description: Tall for a dwarf, broad-shouldered with obsidian skin. Beard braided with ember-cords and rune-beads. Glowing cracks trace his limbs like cooled magma. Irises feature a second, counter-rotating spiral. Wears reinforced robes burn-sealed at the hems.

Coal-Wardens

Guardians of the Ash-Wards and the sacred sites.

-Miira

Ancestral Echo: Human   Personality: Stoic, duty-bound, emotionally reserved.   Visual Description: Perfectly symmetrical face, smooth and still. Dark copper skin with a matte dusted finish. Sleeveless robes embroidered with flame-vein sigils. Eyes shimmer like heat mirage when invoking doctrine.

-Kethir

Ancestral Echo: Orc   Personality: Stern, skeptical, spiritually confrontational.   Visual Description: Towering frame with ash-grey skin. Copper eyes always half-lidded, never flinching. Layered volcanic scale armor grown from seed-crust. Arms marked with ever-shifting fractal tattoos. Outward-pulsing iris spirals—rare and symbolic of opposition.

Culture

Flame is not destruction—it’s remembrance. The Isles must cycle—not stagnate under control like the Greymutters want. They believe your players are "the re-embodied echoes" of the first myth-cycle. They are aware of AFO, consider him a nuisance but not their concern—"We’ll intervene when we are meant to."

Public Agenda

"When the flame is struck down, the ones who bear its ash shall rise through the smoke."   Maintain the spiritual channels and fire-wards into the Emberhold. Monitor the world for soul-signature anomalies. Be ready to identify and recover the Seedbearers when the Sentinel fell.

"We are the coal beneath your throne. Cold until needed."
