Hilna Truestep
Hilna Truestep was born in Collinwood, a quiet halfling town tucked amid the forested glades north of Tyrluk. Spirited and independent, she left home in her early twenties to set up shop in Eveningstar, where she opened Truestep Inks — a small tattoo parlour known for protective sigils, ancestral emblems, and arcane markings favoured by adventurers.
When the plague descendedon Eveningstar, Hilna stayed behind to help those who remained. She tattooed charms of resistance into the skin of survivors, warding off madness for as long as she could. But the plague came for her as well. Twisting her senses and fevering her blood, she fled the town in delirium.
By fortune or fate, she was found collapsed on a woodland path by a wandering halfling spice trader and brought back to Collinwood. There, the Guardians healed her breaking the plague’s curse just before it claimed her.
Now recovering in the Collinwood infirmary, Hilna whispers of robed figures walking untouched through the plague. Cultists of Malyk, she says, weaving wild magic into the fabric of the town and stirring the dead. She suspects they were behind the outbreak’s spread — and that their work is not done.
