Amulet of the Planes

Description: The Amulet of the Planes is a finely crafted, multifaceted gem set in an intricately wrought silver pendant. The gem glows with a shifting array of colors, reminiscent of the various planes of existence. The amulet is engraved with runes and symbols representing different planes and is suspended from a delicate silver chain.

History: This powerful artifact was once owned by the lich Adzarek, who used it to travel between the planes in his quest for forbidden knowledge. After Adzarek's demise at the hands of brave adventurers, the amulet's whereabouts became a mystery. It is speculated that it might still be hidden within the cursed halls of Barrenstone, the lich's lair, awaiting discovery by daring explorers.

Planar Travel:

Activation: As an action, the attuned wearer can use the amulet to cast the Plane Shift spell (save DC 17). The wearer can specify a target destination on another plane of existence. This ability can be used once per long rest.

Planar Navigation:

Finding Your Way: The amulet can guide its wearer to specific locations on different planes. By spending 10 minutes concentrating on the amulet, the wearer can determine the direction and distance to a known location on another plane. This ability can be used twice per long rest.

Planar Resistance:

Protection: While attuned to the amulet, the wearer gains resistance to damage from spells and effects originating from other planes.

Drawbacks:

Planar Instability: Unpredictable Destinations: Each time the amulet is used to cast Plane Shift, there is a 20% chance that the destination is off by 1d10 miles. This can place the wearer in a random, potentially dangerous area on the target plane.
