Itrix, The Fortunebringer

Minor Goddess of Luck, Fortune, and Destiny

"...luck is a fickle thing, Typhon. You've served me faithfully all these centuries - without qualm or question, but this is another matter entirely. I...am not like the others of my ilk, who have been cast down to this mortal realm in shackles of mortal flesh. I cannot exist without mortals - I have no form to call my own."   "..."   "I am a reflection of mortal desire and uncertainty - a God of the Gaps given nebulous form. Long have mortals viewed me as the Golden Ghost - the fourth aspect of life, beside Mind, Body, and Soul - and my divine nature cannot allow me to crown a champion or issue blessings without the consent of whom I choose. You are under no obligation to burden yourself with me, but I ask nonetheless - will you serve as my champion? Will you tie your fate with mine?"   "Darlin' - even before I knew yeh by name, you've been with me all my life. I've won and lost more fortunes than most men can even imagine - gone from a half-dead beggar to the Gambling King of the Imperium - hells, there ain't nothin' I haven't risked or risked it all for over the years..."   "...so, then...?"   "Hells, darlin' - come on in, and make yerself at home in ol' Typhon Bull. We'll rustle up some trouble together, no doubt - just one more game, ain't it? Lucky for you then, that Typhon Bull ain't never met a game he hasn't won."
— Conversation between Typhon Bull and Itrix, shortly after her manifestation on the material plane after the beginning of the Age of Godsfall
Titles: Lady Luck, The Fortunebringer, The Weaver, The Golden Ghost, The Invisible Mother, The Wind in the Sails, The Roll of the Dice   Favored Weapon: Starknife   Alignment: True Neutral   Church Moniker: Church of the Fortunebringer   Obedience: Spend an hour rolling dice or performing any action with an element of chance or luck involved. Be sure to notate the number of lucky or abnormal occurances during this time, such as rolling a natural 1 or 20 on the die, etc. Once the hour is up, crumple the paper and toss it into the wind to deliver it into Itrix's embrace.   Effect: As an immediate action, when you would make an attack roll, saving throw, skill check, or other d20 roll, you may choose to channel the power of Lady Luck to instead, and roll a d20 die without modifiers - which manifests in your palm as a physical object which you must toss into the air or onto the ground to use this effect. If the result is above half on the dice(10 on a d20), you are treated as if you had rolled a natural 20 for that roll. If it rolls below half, you are treated as rolling a natural 1 instead. You cannot use this ability to reroll a roll made with this ability. You may use this ability three times per day without issue - every subsequent use, the threshold for the roll to be considered a natural 20 rises by 1(11, 12, etc).

Artifacts

Though Itrix's faith is an ancient, powerful, and popular one, she has largely stood throughout time as a deity who lacked virtually any artifacts - instead, Itrix prefers to bless her faithful with blessings during their hours of need in ways that, more often than not, go unnoticed by them; A sailor narrowly avoiding slipping off the mast while working with his ship's rigging and sails, a Gambler narrowly winning a fortune when all was otherwise lost, and so on - all this and more are the typical signs of Itrix's favor.   Rumors, of course, have always abounded of artifacts tied to Itrix - though more often than not, these artifacts are usually found to be "lucky items" ascribed divine properties by their owners by misguided proximity to unnaturally lucky or rare events; the items themselves almost always found to be entirely unrelated to the unnatural luck their owners experienced, and were believed to be artifacts by simple misappropriation. Most persistent of these rumors however, speak of potent magical items known as Luck Blades that are said to grant their wielders limited control over luck and chance...while the more powerful among them are said to even contain the power to re-write reality. Chiefmost of all these rumors are the myths of a singular Master Blade - or Destiny Blade depending on the telling - a singularly legendary blade from which all lesser Luck Blades were forged from - and controlled by.

Tenets of Faith

Glory to the winner. Never allow a winner to be denied his rightful prizes - he who emerges victorious through risk and chance does so with my blessing.

Roll the dice. Take chances and submit yourself to the whims of Lady Luck wherever possible. Any action with a foregone conclusion is none worth taking.

Boldness and Bravery. Be confident and courageous, and avoid the safe road wherever possible. Delight in risk and the rewards that follow, for such is proof of my favor.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

To teach creatures to take risks and be bold.   To teach creatures to be comfortable in their own fate, and trust in the whims of chance.   To promote self-reliance and independence.
Don't think of her as a normal god. Or a god at all, if you're faithless...she's not like the others. With her, YOU'RE first. Not her.   You're the master of your own destiny. Your own fate. You carve your path, alone, and commit to your fate...and in exchange, she'll aid in ways you'll never even realize to help you reach that fate you want to carve for yourself.
