History of Converga

Converga, a realm known for the abundant presence of elemental energy, was not always so. The Convergan Plane of current day stemmed from a great reaving of planar separations known as The Convergence.   The plane of Converga posesses relatively thin separations between itself and neighboring Elemental planes, making the creation of portal paths much easier by comparison as well. It is unsure as to what sparked the initial outpouring of elemental energies, but each planar separation that tore away served to quicken the others, soon bathing the realm of Converga in searing Fire, rushing Water, blinding Light, relentless Wind, destructive Earth, and engulfing Darkness. Countless numbers were destroyed in these various elemental outpourings from their respective portals, and the remaining survivors retreated until threatened on all sides by these primordial forces. All that witnessed it thought for sure that their lives would be taken as their realm was, and simply awaited to see which of the elemental forces would win out to finish them off.   Suddenly, the heavens tore from above! From this seventh rift descended Elementals of a higher existence, given form and function to counteract the near-apocalypse of Converga.   Conflago, Master Of Fire, served as a bulwark against the blazing flames. He absorbed the destructive firestorm and controlled it, giving way to a land of heat and scorched sands now known as the Fire Zone.   Kouri, Mistress Of Ice, effortlessly reached out her hand to freeze the endless deluge of water. The lands where once there was massive valleys and mountains now lie deep beneath a thick sheet of ice, and this place would now be known as the Ice Zone.   Raigan, Lord Of Lightning, carried with him a melody and the power to break apart the rolling earth which threatened to bury the people beneath it. With every charged riff he fired towards the turmoil, boulders broke into rocks, rocks broke into pebbles, and the pebbles shattered into the dirt which lay a solid foundation for what would be known as the Lightning Zone.   Nakaze, Lady Of Wind, wrapped the gale-force sheer winds around herself, breaking them into all manner of gentle breezes and drafts. The habitats of the people in this land were blown away, but a strong natural presence remained in these lands. The people were able to settle back and commune with nature in what was now known as the Wind Zone.   Shikami, King Of Darkness, retreated the shadows back towards which they came. His eerie powers began to lace the darkness-consumed lands deeper into the area with a green glow, providing a strange substitute to the sunlight which could no longer penetrate the ebony skies. This strange glowing was what allowed denizens of what was now the Dark Zone to exist and learn to live in their new conditions.   Klavikari, Queen Of Light, controlled the light which threatened to blind and sear all that existed, quelling the shine into a perpetual light which permeated the lands it once encompassed. These lands still possessed most of their created structures, so the people of the area known now as the Light Zone would now simply figure out how to provide stability of society within their domain.   With the elemental outpouring now under the watch and control of these Elemental Deities, the people breathed a sigh of relief. It was now their duty to return to these newly forged lands, seeking to bring about a more proper existence for future generations that would be born into the After-Convergence Converga.

The draconic people (such as the Dragonborn and Tamargon races) were in shambles for centuries, brought upon them by their ancestral Dragons own hubris and the punishment that followed. Dragons became all but extinct during the 300-500 ACV era, and the Tamargons became prophets of the ultimate demise of their people.   This projected destruction was reversed by the efforts of a once-proud dragon named Igneel. His debts paid through his Drow-flesh prison, he joined the adventurers within Round 3 in a grand endeavor to redeem the Dragons. Eventually cured of his debilitating curse of decomposition, Igneel began to reform the kingdoms of old in a new light, forging a pact with Conflago to begin within the Fire Plane. Through the efforts of himself, Mushu, Kulgin, and the other dragons that began to culminate, the following century would see a flourishing of all manner of Draconic power within Converga, signalling hope for the future to all allies and bloodbound of their people.
